Circle Environmental Established 1992
Circle Environmental has developed and patented a process to clean oil absorbent material and to refine the used oils extracted from the materials. This process turns three separate waste streams into three reusable products. The EPA encourages recycling absorbents by exempting the laundering of absorbents from RCRA and by excluding materials from the definition of solid waste.
Brief History
Circle Environmental was established in Columbia, South Carolina in 1992. Circle Environmental has expanded via a network of individually owned franchises throughout the United States. Circle Environmental, Mid-Western franchise was established in 1996 and is owned and operated by Rick Marchbanks. This franchise covers most of the mid-west and a portion of the southern region, with operations in Fulton, Missouri.
We supply your company with absorbent material (socks, mats, & pillows) and collection drums. Our drivers stop by on a monthly or weekly route to consolidate the collection drums, pick up full drums, and restock absorbent inventory.
At the Circle Environmental facility, the oil is extracted from the absorbents, and the oil is recycled. The absorbents are then laundered and bagged to be returned to your company. That's right, your company gets the same absorbents back! Circle Environmental knows absorbent recycling.
Absorbent Recycling Process
Circle Environmental is a recycling facility that processes non-hazardous oil saturated absorbents through a recycling process, comprised of centrifuge and dry cleaning operations. Initially, oil saturated absorbents are processed through a centrifuge operation to remove excess oil from the absorbents. The extracted oil is transported off site for recycling by an EPA approved oil-recycling company.
Absorbents are then cleaned through our patented dry-cleaning process utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. Our industrial closed loop dry cleaning machine utilizes a refraction distillation system that reclaims greater than 99% of the non-hazardous solvent for reuse. The clean absorbents are then packaged for re-distribution to our customers. Absorbent materials remain separated by customer throughout the process to prevent co-mingling of materials. The process used by Circle Environmental provides the most environmentally sound method for absorbent recycling today. Virtually no waste enters into the environment.
